The Homestead Hotel sat along State Road 156 by the road leading to the original hotel. It must have taken over the West Baden Springs name sometime after the Jesuits opened West Baden College in the old hotel building in 1934. See the file for ED59-07 for a brief history of the original West Baden Springs Hotel. =============================================================================================================================================================================================== CENSUS YEAR: 1950 STATE: IN COUNTY: Orange TOWNSHIP: French Lick INCORP-PLACE: West Baden Town INSTITUTION: West Baden Springs Hotel MICROFILM#: T628-16 & 17 ENUM/DISTR: 59-06 ENUMERATOR: Margaret Murray SHEET NO: 1 ENUM/DATE-RANGE: April 11, 1950 =============================================================================================================================================================================================== S-M-N CIT- FATHER'S MOTHER'S U.S. ARMED FORCES LN# STREET HSE# SER# LAST NAME FIRST NAME RELATION RACE M/F AGE Wd-D BIRTHPLACE SHIP OCCUPATION INDUSTRY BIRTHPLACE BIRTHPLACE WWII WWI OTHER TRANSCRIBER REMARKS (1) (2) (3) (7) (7) (8) (9) (10) (11) (12) (13) (14) (20a) (20b) (25) (25) (33A) (33B) (33C) =============================================================================================================================================================================================== 1 . 240 .
