Granville county NC Federal Census  -  notes


Please check the written (microfilm) record to make your decision regarding questionable
birthplaces. Some ditto marks covered more than one page and were under a non-North Carolina 
birthplace, such as VA or Ireland.  That was so unusual that I question the validity of the
birthplaces shown for so many people listed continuously in the census record.

I just bring to your attention that the possibility exists that the census taker MAY have
forgotten to put NC in the column before putting in all the ditto marks.
