I cross referenced names with the National Parks Service Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System list of soldiers and regiments at http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/index.html I also found names matching soldiers on the 1880 and 1870 census records for Thayer County Nebraska, and the 1900 plat names records.
