D. Swayze) as for Belvidere Township). However, his style of recording changed considerably when enumerating Oxford Township. There were numerous discrepancies in the sequence of numbering for Dwellings and Families. The biggest change was the Birth Place designations. Whereas, in Belvidere every person's birthplace was indicated by name, initials or, at least, ditto marks, in Oxford only heads of family or out of state birthplaces were usually indicated, with only occasional use of ditto marks. However, it would appear that it would be safe to assume that all blank spaces were for people whose birthplace was New Jersey."
