    This Township was enumerated by Jno. Hicks and there were several
things "unusual" about the way he did it. Usually more than 50% of the
people enumerated in 1870 cannot read or write. In this enumeration,
there were no people who couldn't read or write. Also usually most of
the children of school age will be marked as attended school. this
enumeration shows no children marked as attended school. There were,
however, two children shown with the occupation of attending school.
This makes you wonder whether the Can't read, Can't write, and Attended
school questions were asked. This transcription is, to the best of my
ability, an accurate copy of what the enumerator wrote and whether
questions were asked or not has no effect on the accuracy of the
transcription.
