Transcriber's notes for 1870 census of Greenville Twp., Somerset Co. PA. http://ftp.us-census.org/pub/usgenweb/census/pa/somerset/1870/ The Enumerator was John H. Lepley who wrote very legibly and thus there is a high percentage that the transcription is accurate. He did have a unique way of spelling some given names. This the reader will always find Alice spelled Allice and Henry spelled Henery and will also find other examples. In all cases, the enumerator's spelling has been recorded to the best of my ability.
