    The last name Tappstadt appears to be written by the enumerator the way it was pronounced.  
    The correct spellling of the last name should be Duppstadt, as verified by present family members.  
    
    Also, the present day Somerset County phone directory lists many Duppstadt families, 
    while there are no Tappstadts listed.

Page 535A, Lines 26-30.  
    The last name Boorbaugh appears to be written by the enumerator the way it was pronounced.  
    The correct spelling of the last name should be Poorbaugh, as spelled in the 1850 Census 
    and also in the present day Somerset County phone book, no Boorbaughs are listed.   
    (The Poorbaughs were also friends of this transcriber's parents.)
