Coryell County, TX Called Session of Commissioner's Court of Coryell County Texas, April 12, 1880. The Court proceeded to lay out and designate the limits and boundary lines of the different Justice Beats of Coryell County and the same shall constitute said Beats until the further Order of this Court. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 1. Shall begin at a point opposite Mrs. McAllisters house on Coryell Creek, thence on a line to John Schley's house. Thence on a line to mouth of Blue Creek (crossed Leon River) thence up said Blue Creek to the Bill Haley water hole. Thence due South to te Bullard Cove road opposite the point of the Mountain. Thence with said road to the Cow House Creek. Thence down Cow House on the East side thereof to Rogers the Lampasas crossing opposite Pidcoke. Thence on a direct line to the Head of the South Henson Creek. Thence down said Creek to W. J. Elam's house. Thence in a direct line through Turnover Creek where the Gatesville and Sugar Loaf road crosses the same going to Straws Mill. Thence with said Creek to its Mouth on the Leon River to the Mouth of Coryell Creek. Thence up said Coryell Creek to the place of beginning. The court changed this Beat: ordered by the Court that JUSTICE BEAT NO. 1 shall be changed as follows to wit: To cross Cow House Creek at R. S. Rogers Mill turn South on the West side thereof so as to include W. A. McBeth the South boundary line of the Vanoy League -- Thence with said line to its S E corner -- Thence with its East line to its N E Corner Thence in a direct line to the head of South Henson Creek. This territoery is taken off of Justice Precinct No 3. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 2 Shall begin at the Mouth of Blue Creek. Thence with the line of Justice Beat No. 1 to the Cow House Creek where the Bullard Cove road crosses said Creek. Thence up said Creek on the East side thereof to the County line. Thence with the County line to the Leon river. Thence down said river on the West side thereof to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 3 Shall begin at the crossing of Cow House Creek at Pidcoke where the Lampasas road crosses. Thence with said road to the County line of this and Lampasas County. Thence with the County line to the North West corner of this County. Thence with the County line to Cow House Creek, thence down said Creek on the West side therof to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 4 Shall begin at the Lampasas road crossing at Pidcoke. Thence with said road to the Lampasas and Coryell County line, Thence down said County line to the South West corner of this County. Thence with the line of Bell and Coryell County to the top of the range of Mountains dividing the waters of the Leon and Cow House. Thence up the top of said Mountains so as to include all the waters running into Cow Houe to opposite the head of South Henson Creek and on the South line of Justice Beat No. 1. Thence with the line of said Beat No. 1 to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 5 Shall begin at the Mouth of Turnover Creek on Leon. Thence up said Creek to where the Gatesville and Lower Sugar Loaf road crosses said Creek. Then on a line with Justice Beat No. 1 to the top of the Mountain opposite the head of South Henson Creek. Thence down said Mountain with the line of Beat No. 4 so as to include all the waters running into the Leon to the County line. Thence with said County line to the Leon River. Thence up said river on the West side thereof to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 6 Shall begin on the Leon River on the Bell County line. Thence with the County line to the South East corner of this County. Thence with the McLenan County line to a point including C.N.Bewley, Terrence West, not to include Pete Kirbey's. Thence in a direct line to Coryell Creek at W. W. Hackneys house. Thence down Coryell Creek to the Leon River. Thence down the Leon to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 7 Shall begin on Coryell Creek at W.W.Hackney's house. Thence up said Creek to Mrs. McAllisters house on the South line of Beat No. 8. Thence to Thomas Sappington's house on Cave Creek. Thence to the Mouth of said Creek. Thence with the Middle Bosque to the East County line. Thence with said line to line of Justice Beat No. 6. Thence west with the North line of Beat No. 6 to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 8 Shalll begin on the Leon River opposite the Mouth of Blue Creek then up the River on the East side thereof to the County Line--Thence with the Coryell and Hamilton County line to the North East corner of this County. Thence with the County line of this and McLennan County to Middle Bosque Creek. Thence up said Cave Creek to include Thomas Sappington's house. Thence in a direct line to Coryell Creek near Mrs. McAllister's house. Thence with the North line of Justice Beat No. 1 to the Middle Bosque to the East County line. Thence with said line to line of Justice Beat No. 6. Thence west with the North line of Beat No. 6 to the place of beginning. JUSTICE BEAT NO. 8 Shall begin on the Leon river opposite the Mouth of Blue Creek then up the River on the East side therof to the County Line--Thence with the Coryell and Hamilton County line to the North East corner of this County. Thence with the County line of this and McLennan County to Middle Bosque Creek. Thence up said Creek to the Mouth of Cave Creek, Thence up said Cave Creek to include Thomas Sappington's house. Thence in a direct line to Coryell Creek near Mrs. McAllister's house. Thence with the North line of Justice Beat No. 1 to the place of beginning.
